In 2016, OSD was tasked with designing a courtyard that provided outdoor seating for the Jewish Studies Building at the College of Charleston. The courtyard is divided into several seating areas wrapped around numerous historic structures. With the creative use of paving, vegetation, furniture and seat walls, the previously disjointed space feels connected to the surrounding buildings, comfortable to the students and is an asset to the College.
OSD provided landscape architecture services, navigated the City of Charleston Board of Architectural Review, assisted in the bidding and negotiation of the construction contract and provided construction observation for this project.
