The courtyard at the College of Charleston’s Kelly House has been designed to foster community - bringing students together in an enjoyable outdoor setting. Enclosed by student housing, this courtyard will serve as a place to gather, socialize, study, or just relax. OSD designed curved walls that provide ample seating while creating smaller rooms within the courtyard. Tall palms create a sense of scale against the multi-story residence hall and are a great place for students to hang hammocks. Dining together is a central part of building community, therefore grilling stations and dining tables are strategically located throughout the space to foster these types of activities.
OSD provided landscape architecture services and is excited to lead the team through bidding and construction observation.
